Virtus Pro, most famous for their CS:GO and Dota teams recently announced a partnership with Egamingbets. Usually this would be a big story, a bookmaker sponsoring a professional eSports team. In this instance however, Egamingbets doesn’t have a visible gambling license and they declined to comment as to what licenses they had when we reached out to them.
This has started a trend with betting companies getting involved with professional gaming teams. Skin betting site CSGOLounge.com recently launched their own team called Lounge Gaming.
External sponsorships are always welcome in Esports and having a bookmaker sponsor a team is great, but unfortunately in this instance no one from countries such as the UK or Australia can safely bet with Egamingbets due to the lack of a gambling license.
Luckily there are alternatives: Bet365 offer a £200 welcome bonus and offer a full range of CSGO betting. You can check out our bet365 review or head over to our free bets page to check out all the legal betting opportunities available to you, where you can be confident your money is safe rather than with companies that do not follow basic protocol around customer security.
