Last week it was reported by an eagle eyed reddit user that one of OPSkins’ bots had been hacked. This is the second successful hack attempt within the space of a month. Previously the hack only disabled access to the account and this was rectified within a week, however the latest hack had much more severe consequences.
$50,000 worth of skins were wiped from the account after the hacker got hold of the account, purchased CS:GO and purposely hacked in order to obtain a VAC ban. In case you aren’t aware, skins are lost when an account is VAC banned.
How many times will OPSkins get hacked and put customers property at risk? A real world example of this would be for your bank account to be cleaned out by a hacker for a week, only for it to be returned. Folk who take skin betting seriously use the site religiously to buy and sell their digital items for cash in order to feed their habit. If their only source of income is from their underground betting habits then OPSkins is an essential tool.
There are a plethora of real money, globally accessible websites that have appropriate licenses to handle your cash and allow you to bet safe in the knowledge nothing like this will ever happen. Head over to our homepage to check out the latest offers.
Update: The bot has now been retrieved by OPSkins via Valve, and the skins have been restored. Dare we say it’ll be a matter of time before this happens again with far worse consequences? And is this proof that Valve is complicit in the skin betting black market?
