If you’ve read our CSGO betting preview of the outright market for this event, you will have seen that we’ve put up Luminosity and Na’Vi as two value bets to win the tournament. Interestingly, Luminosity take on Na’Vi in their opening fixture. Praise the lord for a double elimination group stage.
Unfortunately, three out of the four games taking place on day one are painfully dull fixtures. They should be very one-sided affairs. The standout fixture is definitely the clash between our two tips.
EnVyUs (9/50 Betway) vs Team Liquid (9/2 Betfair Sportsbook)
Despite EnVyUs’ slump at the FACEIT Stage 3 Finals they have the individual skill to win a firefight against Team Liquid. It’s worth bearing in mind that mOe will be standing in for Elige for just this game, so Liquid haven’t got their usual roster. This is because he is busy with his studies but he will return for the rest of the event. We wouldn’t give Team Liquid a chance with their normal starting five. The change could have a positive affect for a team that isn’t firing on all cylinders but we expect EnVyUs to simply out-aim, out-game and out-play Team Liquid and take this in straight maps..
Recommended Bet:
EnVyUs to win 2-0 with Betway at 13/20 (1.65)
Fnatic (1/12 bet365) vs Conquest (8/1 Skybet)
This will be another painfully dull first round fixture. Fnatic are head and shoulders above Conquest in the CSGO hierarchy and we fully expect a 2-0 clean sweep here, but the price is only 4/9 with bet365, who are the top price. We wish we could put up something at a more appealing price but there is a nearer 80% than 70% chance that Fnatic win this match 2-0 and as such, it really is a stand-out bet. If you’re looking for something at a bigger price, Fnatic to win map one with a -5.5 round handicap (i.e. they need to win 16-10 or better) at 5/6 on Skybet is an alternative. We don’t even know the map yet but you’d still expect Fnatic to dominate.
Recommended Bet:
Fnatic to win 2-0 with bet365 at 4/9 (1.44)
Luminosity (6/4 Betfair Sportsbook) v Na’Vi (8/15 bet365)
As mentioned, the clash between our two outright selections. As of yet we obviously don’t know the maps they’ll be playing on so there is some uncertainty around this selection. At the prices, we have to side with Luminosity to continue their incredible run of taking maps from (and often beating) top teams. Na’Vi have the upper hand in that they beat Luminosity’s previous roster in an incredibly close 19-17 and 16-13 match at IEM San Jose. If you take into consideration how close those games were, you’ll know Luminosity are no push overs.
Recommended Bet:
Luminosity to win with Betfair Sportsbook at 6/4 (2.50).
? (Ex-TSM) (1/3 Skybet) vs CLG (5/1 bet365)
Over on our outright article we were very scathing of ex-TSM. They aren’t in a good place which has been played out in public with several high profile failures over the past six months. For this fixture, feel free to disregard absolutely everything in that preview. The Danes will win this series easily.. They could win this game blindfolded. Our outright analysis looks at their chances of winning versus the top teams at the business end of the competition. This is the group stage and CLG are nowhere near a top tier team. Unfortunately for them have little chance of getting any sort of result today.
Recommended Bet:
? (ex-TSM) to win 2-0 with Skybet at 8/13 (1.61)
