Luminosity v Mousesports
Two teams who showed dominant performances yesterday that were not expected. Both teams breezed past their opponents with Luminosity smashing a below par Titan (who never showed up whatsoever) and Mousesports comfortably beating the Dreamhack Cluj finalists Na’Vi.
Currently Luminosity are the 8/13 favourites with William Hill with Mousesports available at 5/4 with bet365. We honestly think these two teams are so equally matched you’d imagine we’d automatically go for the value call, Mousesports. The issue is Luminosity may have turned a corner with their defeat of Titan. Have they resolved their issue with failing to see out best of 3 matches? If they beat Mousesports in a reasonably convincing fashion you’d imagine they’d become serious contenders for the entire tournament considering how shaky Virtus Pro looked yesterday against minnows Conquest.
Recommended Bet:
Luminosity to win with William Hill at 8/13 (1.61).
We’d tread carefully with this one. Not for the faint hearted.
Titan v Na’Vi
We cannot have Titan at any price. You could give us 5/1 and we wouldn’t take it. Something seems to be amiss with Titan. They wouldn’t string together rounds with any regularity vs Luminosity yesterday which prompted Shox to tweet something roughly translated to “Err, no idea what happened there, let’s hope we perform tomorrow.” That doesn’t sound promising.
Na’Vi are still a top team and we fully expect Guardian to run riot against an under-performing opponent. You can get 2/1 on Na’Vi to win -1.5 on the handicap. That is, they have to win 2-0 to win the bet. We think this is an excellent price.
If the Titan of yesterday turn up, that bet will win. If they remember how to play CounterStrike they could make it interesting. At this price though, it can’t go unbacked.
Recommended Bet:
Na’Vi -1.5 maps with SkyBet at 2/1 (3.00)
Virtus Pro v Team Dignitas
Both teams had to overcome minor scares yesterday, more so Virtus Pro who needed double overtime to secure the 2-0 win vs Conquest. Dignitas had an easier time on their second map as they beat Liquid 16-13 to take the series 2-0. The second map of Virtus Pro’s game went on for so long the cleaners had entered the area after everyone else had gone home (maybe not, but it felt like it).
Rumour has it that this is potentially the last event for the Dignitas lineup as they currently stand. They’re on decent salaries and haven’t really offered any return on investment for their organization as of yet. They really need the win to justify large investment from Team Dignitas for 2016 season. Obviously, they could find themselves a new home, but it’s unlikely to be with anyone who can provide the same level of support.
Virtus Pro are the overall favourites for the CEVO Season 8 Finals and are huge favourites for this match but they are by no means unbeatable. We can see them winning this fixture, but it won’t be easy. We think there’s a good chance Dignitas can steal a map but the Poles should come out on top.
Recommended Bet:
Virtus Pro to win 2-1 with Skybet at 19/10 (2.90)
