Unibet Review – Introduction:

Formed in 1997, Unibet has amassed 9.5 million customers across 100 different countries, which has helped them become the largest Scandinavian owned bookmaker, with an annual turnover of approximately £200m.

From their headquarters in Malta, Unibet pride themselves on taking parts from various locations across Europe including places like the Netherlands where most bookmakers don’t take bets from.

Reputation and Reliability:

As Unibet are based and regulated in Malta their ability to take a bet and be able to pay it out is not in question. They pride themselves on their Nordic routes and we haven’t found any serious complaints from customers regarding them. They are a member of the European Gaming and Betting Association as well as the Remote Gambling Association in the UK and are audited by eCOGRA in relation to responsible gambling. In Australia they are licensed in the Northern Territory.

They’re a very respected brand in the gambling industry and we can’t think of any issues we’ve ever experienced or witnessed others experience. Bet with confidence.

Unibet – CSGO Betting:

CSGO betting (in fact, eSports betting in general) is something that Unibet are only testing the waters with currently, but they were one of the earlier bookmakers to start offering this in the first half of 2015. Currently they only offer win markets but you’d expect that to expand in the near future as some of their competitors are already ahead of them in this regard. On the plus side, they offer a lot of matches, and that’s what you mostly care about, right?

Unibet – eSports history:

Unibet have kept a low profile in regards to their involvement in Esports to date. They do offer betting on the other major titles such as StarCraft II, League of Legends and Dota 2.

Payment Options:

Unibet are actually very quick with withdrawals. We found that despite asking for a withdrawal at 10pm on a Thursday, the money was back in our bank account on Friday afternoon. This is super quick even compared to some of the industry leaders!

We really cannot find a fault with their deposit/withdrawal procedure: impressive. The only thing that is disappointing is the lack of PayPal support. We love PayPal – it’s the punter’s friend. Quick deposits and quick withdrawals is what we love, but when you’re getting your money back in your bank the next day, it’s hard to complain too much. You can always use Skrill or NETELLER instead.

Customer Support:

Unlike some bookmakers Unibet offers multiple-language live chat. It’s also possible to contact them via telephone or email. From our experience email isn’t the quickest option compared to their rivals so we’d suggest popping on the live chat. That said, they do offer multi-language support which is fantastic for people whose first language is not English.

Website & Betting Options:

Seeing as they use the same platform as 32Red and 888Sport, you may not find the experience of using the Unibet site to be too difficult. The layout isn’t one of our favourites, but we prefer the colour scheme to that of 888.

When you do find “E-Sports” on the Unibet site (it’s on the left navigation bar), you’ll be presented with a slick Esports section that is easy to use. You can easily separate the different games out again using the main left hand side navigation bar.

Unibet allows you to do multiple bets with other sports which can help you to enjoy the betting experience even more. If you’d like to change the odds from fractional to decimal, look for the drop-down in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar, under the support section.

Much like 32Red, Unibet will limit large bets on Esports but as long as you don’t want to put hundreds of pounds onto a CSGO game you’ll be alright. If you do, check out bet365, who will lay much more sizeable bets.

Sports Markets:

Like most other bookmakers who are accepting bets on Esports, League of Legends, Dota 2 and StarCraft II are all available with Unibet. They also pride themselves on their mainstream sports offering – again, all the ones that you’d expect.

Unibet offer traditional match winner markets on mainstream sports as well as more advanced betting opportunities such as handicap markets, first or anytime goalscorers, correct scores and both teams to score. The more niche sports offerings are quite limited and you may well only find yourself being able to bet on who will win a match or a tournament.

Other Products:

Unibet originally launched as a Swedish sportsbook, but they’ve expanded their product range to include Casino, Live Casino, Games, Bingo and Poker. Verdict:

Not much differs between Unibet and 32Red and both are solid places to bet on CSGO. We slightly prefer 32Red to Unibet, but Unibet’s fast debit card withdrawals is a major plus.
