Sportrader and ESL Form Partnership

Sportradar, a betting data provider recently announced a partnership with ESL, which will see both companies work closely together to expand Esports betting offerings in a responsible manner.

ESL will provide Sportradar with in-depth information regarding their upcoming tournaments, fixtures, player stats, in-game data and form guides. This will allow Sportradar, a data provider, to feed this into bookmakers to improve their current Esports offerings. Expect a wider range of bets and in-play betting to become the norm for all bookmakers hooked up to the Sportradar system.

Interestingly Sportradar will also receive raw live feeds of each event that ESL put on which bookmakers can purchase a license for. This will mean, should you wish, you will be able to watch games streamed live via the bookmakers website as opposed to going directly to Twitch.

Bookmakers will potentially get the feed direct from events up to 30 seconds faster than they end up on Twitch allowing them to offer in-play betting. For the Esports punter this will allow you to watch games faster than you could on Twitch, which won’t necessary offer you an edge with regards to bets, but will mean you can watch the action unfold in nearer to real time.

Sportradar currently works with many of the top names in the industry. They provide their services to the likes of Bet365, Paddy Power, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral, BetVictor and 188Bet. It’ll only be a matter of time before we see even more bookmakers getting involved with Esports due to Sportradar’s continued push.

Additionally, Sportradar provide their match fixing software to several sports governing bodies such as ITF (Tennis), PDC (darts), World Snooker, FIBA (basketball), Football Federation Australia and the Professional Bowls Association. ESL will now be added to that list despite them not being a governing body as such, which will enable them to be notified if Sportradar detect any potential match-fixing in ESL tournaments.
