Ladbrokes Review
Ladbrokes Australia Review – Introduction:
Ladbrokes Australia launched in September 2013 after the British bookmaking giant purchased Bookmaker.com.au. They entered the Australian market after rebranding Bookmaker’s site and retaining all their staff. Ladbrokes is listed on the London Stock Exchange and they employ 15,000 people across their offices in London, Gibraltar, Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Australia. On top of this Ladbrokes have over 2,800 shops in the UK.
Ladbrokes are currently in merger talks with Gala Coral and should the merger meet regulatory approval they’ll form the biggest UK high street presence and will become even more of a powerhouse in the industry. This should feed through into their Australian operations.
Ladbrokes are relatively new to the Australian market and are still finding their feet in an ultra-competitive territory. Just click here to register.
Reputation and Reliability:
Considering Ladbrokes Australia is owned and backed by Ladbrokes plc, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, you can put faith into Ladbrokes Australia. Ladbrokes is one of the most recognisable brands in the UK with over 80 years of experience in bookmaking.
The only issue we can come up with is the fact the site is so new. Ladbrokes only branched into Australia a few years ago, so you’d expect there to be teething problems. We haven’t encountered any, but should we discover any we’ll be sure to let you know. This is likely because they entered Australia through purchasing Bookmaker.com.au which was a well-run minor bookmaker.
Ladbrokes – CSGO Betting:
Ladbrokes have not offered many CSGO betting markets to date. We expect the number of matches available will increase during 2016.
Ladbrokes – eSports history:
Ladbrokes have flirted with Esports betting and their involvement to date has been quite limited. Occasionally they offer betting markets but this is inconsistent. They haven’t done any marketing towards Esports communities.
Payment Options:
Ladbrokes support all of the standard payment methods. As well as credit or debit card and bank transfer deposits, you can use online payment wallets such as PayPal, Neteller and Skrill (Moneybookers). This allows punters to put betting funds into an online wallet as opposed to using your bank account and alerting the missus to what you get up to in your spare time!
One unique feature to Ladbrokes is their Ladbrokes Debit Card which is available to all customers. This is linked to your account so should you want to instantly withdraw your winnings you can do so quickly via any ATM, PayWave or EFTPOS. You can use it exactly like a normal debit card.
Customer Support:
Ladbrokes Australia have all of the normal customer service methods but they’ve not got any sort of Live Chat support. This is disappointing because this is universally seen as the quickest and easiest way to get your query resolved.
You can reach out to Ladbrokes support via Phone (1300 Ladbrokes) or email (support@ladbrokes.com.au)
Website & Betting Options:
Ladbrokes has a very colourful website. It may take a while for those sensitive to such glaring colour to adjust. The layout of the site itself is easy to understand if you want to bet on major sports. Horse racing takes centre stage and you can easily find other sports.
To find Ladbrokes’ Esports markets you’ll need to scroll down the page until you see the three red buttons “Racing” “Sports” and “Novelty” on the left hand navigation bar. Click on sports and this will give you a new menu which is displayed in alphabetical order. The “Sports” button on the top menu bar can be clicked instead.
You will then see an A to Z of sports listed on the left hand side. Esports will only appear when there are betting markets available.
Odds are displayed in the usual manner, decimals, and should you not want to back a short priced team as a single you can create multiple bets which greatly improves your returns. I does make winning more challenging as you need every single selection to come in to turn your multiple bet into a winner.
To place multiple bets you simply select all the teams you want in your multi and then the bet slip will appear on the right hand side. Head down to “Multi bets” and enter your stake. You’ll also see what your returns are when you do this.
Sports Markets:
As you’d expect from such a big name you can bet on everything from American Football to Volleyball and everything in-between. As well as pre-match betting opportunities Ladbrokes offer live in-play betting so you can follow your favourite team and have a punt on them as the game is well under way. For this, you’d need to call up Ladbrokes’ telephone betting.
On top of the traditional Sports markets you can bet on Ladbrokes’ novelty markets which are categorised as Current Affairs, Entertainment and Financial. Ever felt the overwhelming urge to back what year a female pope will be anointed? Or who’ll win the Gold Logie? Well, you can with Ladbrokes.
Other Products:
There are no other products to speak of at Ladbrokes Australia. This is so they remain fully compliant with all local licensing and regulation.
Verdict:
Ladbrokes is a solid and respected global betting brand. Unfortunately, their Esports betting markets are irregular. We’d still recommend you open an account because when they do price up matches they are a great bookmaker and we believe it is a matter of time before they increase their product range, so sign up.
